Hello and welcome to HJT Counselling. My name is Hannah and I am passionate about people and working with my clients. My psychotherapy work is incredibly rewarding and it is a piviledge to help and support each unique individual during periods of uncertainty. I provide short and long term psychotherapy to adults across a wide range of psychological issues, ethnicities, class backgrounds and sexual/gender identifications.
I am trained to Masters level and have qualified with an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck, University of London. As a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I am bound by the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I also have a BA in Health Studies and an MA in Social Anthropology which together, have given me a broad understanding of health, cultural and developmental issues that affect all individuals. Additionally, I recognise the importance of individuals’ psychosocial experiences to consider societal and environmental influences on psychological wellbeing and identity.
My training has informed my work and provides the foundation for my approach, but it is the people I meet who continually teach me and are the rich source for my learning and ongoing development. I have worked for charity organisations including Mind and Age UK Camden, and also a higher education counselling service seeing university students at UCL, in London. This has given me invaluable experience with clients across all age ranges from 18 through to 70+ and from varied walks of life.
Having worked in corporate organisations for over ten years in the city of London, I have first-hand experience of the pressures within competitive environments and the effects of work related stress.
